When Yah Answers Prayer - Kiareni Orphans

Updated: Dec 4, 2023

It was about the time of the full moon in mid-August and as I am always studying the Word, I had come to realize something that I had not seen before (For me an often occurring experience when studying the Word of life). Abba was dealing with my soul about orphans, of course the scripture uses the term fatherless.

I came to realize that the scripture never specifies an age limit for what constitutes an orphan. We all know that if a child losses it's parents it is orphaned and must rely on other adults for its life, we assume this is the only definition. This in not the only definition.

I watched my own Dad become orphaned when my Grandpa Ruben died in the 80's, he became fatherless, and this loss effected him deeply. I watched 38 years later when he lost his mother. I watched as one of my own board members lost his parents in the same year only months from each other. The bible doesn't give an age wherewith one can become an orphan and this was a curious idea for me to think about. I spoke with other brothers about this idea and it became a powerful part of the same week that I heard from a man from a distant land.

This man is brother Nyamora, Pastor of the Kiareni Congregation in Kisii county in Kenya Africa. Brother Nyamora serves as Senior Pastor to an 80 person congregation and operates the Love and Blessing Children's Home housing 25 young people.

Nyamora called me in the midst of this time that Yah was dealing with me. We started having regular weekly phone calls as I searched my soul and his to see if this was real and that this man was genuine. There is a powerful advantage to having the Ruach HaKodesh a.k.a., the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is very specific and anyone who study's God's Word with sincerity knows when others are sincere. The scripture teaches to test the spirits, and it did not take long to know that this is a man of God with a servants heart.

This is Yah opening doors, this is Abba answering prayers, this is the work that the Torah teaches us to do. Now the Torah teaches that we are to care for the orphans, but not just any orphans. Even Yeshua focused teaching His own family (the Israelite people) this is the reason for the phrase; within your gates. For me, within your gates means a congregation that strives to keep the Torah, strives to keep the principles of the Covenant God established through Moses and was opened up to all nations by Yeshua.

There are other factors that had to be in place in order for this door to open. We took to the streets of Española for 9 months, working the streets, supporting the addicts on the streets. This we are still doing but not directly. Our ministry is working through a new task force to build a Tiny House Village to provide transitional housing solutions. This work was necessary in order to understand the best way to help people. Feeding people is always important work, but drug addicts are choosing to live this way and are not living within the gates defined by scripture.

We were redirected by Yah to focus within our gates. That is to say getting our own house in order, supporting my widowed Mother-in-law; a faithful daughter of the King. The very reason we even moved back to the area was to be there for her, and we were not supporting her very well. We re-prioritized our energy on her, making decisions that included her in our daily and weekly lives. My eldest daughter even moving in with her to better care for her.

These decisions lead to Father giving us powerful Sabbath insights and He began to use us in ways that often times intervened in situations taking place in the body. The scope of these situations is too wide to share here. Suffice it to say, our obedience to His will, and our willingness to do what He wants us to do rather than we deciding things on our own has now (I believe) put us in the position of supporting this Torah observant Kenyan congregation.

The congregation has accepted me into their eldership, and I am honored beyond belief. Now, I am working hard to offer the opportunity to other believers who have been praying for direction as to what to do with their tithes or offerings. Brothers, sisters and ministries looking for a cause to support that the LORD himself is leading and blessing. Don't just take my word for it, but ask Yah himself.

We believe the best way to support this group of orphans is to choose one orphan to support. We will be putting together profiles on each orphan, and as you go through the profiles, we ask that you pray and ask Abba if there is one that He lays on your heart. This is how it will be done. That way each orphan is invested in by individuals and each patron, if you will, will be investing in an orphan matched by Yah himself.

We as a nonprofit are still in our infancy, we have a lot of work to do. As it is, we still don't even have a bank account and are in need of board members. We are praying about this as well. Nobody is going to be allowed on this board unless Abba makes it happen and this is how this ministry is run. If you have any questions or want to get involved please email us. You can also become a member to our website. Doing so will put you in the know whenever we put out new content.

Remember you can't expect to impact others, unless you can show how well you have impacted yourself.

In Yeshua,

Brother Hernandez
